Make a few extra days of it

Arrive early and take advantage of the tons of attractions

Whether you want to embrace the great outdoors at the many parks — the grand dame of them all being the Florida Everglades — snorkel or sunbathe along 24 miles of beautiful beaches, or eat and drink your way around world-class bars and restaurants.

The great outdoors

Airboats and alligators in the Florida Everglades, plus Hugh Taylor Birch and Secret Woods right in town.

24 miles of beaches

Snorkel the reefs off Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, or just claim a stretch of sand and do absolutely nothing.

Eat and drink around town

Las Olas Boulevard, the riverfront and the beach strip are full of world-class bars and restaurants.

On the water

The Water Taxi hops between downtown, Las Olas and the beach all day, and the Jungle Queen riverboat runs a classic dinner cruise past the mansions of the New River.

Museums and gardens

NSU Art Museum, the Museum of Discovery and Science with its IMAX, the 1905 Stranahan House, and the Bonnet House estate and its gardens a block off the beach.

Day trips nearby

Hollywood Beach and its boardwalk, Sawgrass Mills for shopping, Butterfly World in Coconut Creek, and Miami or Palm Beach are each under an hour away.
